this photograph are from left to right-George Carl Johann Louis Ritsert,
Friedrich George Alexander
Ritsert, and George August
Hermann Ritsert,( my grandfather) on the right.
Friedrich George Alexander
was born June 6, 1857 in Bremen, Germany. He was called Alexander.
He died February 1903
in New York City.
Alexander was married to Effie Gremmler. They were married October
17, 1894 in "The Church of Strangers"
in Greenwood Lake,
N.Y. They had one child whose name was Glady's Ritsert.
Gladys married William Henry Smythe.
Gladys was a concert
pianist. She and her husband were theatrical folks working in vaudeville.
Alexander is in the middle.
George August Hermann
Ritsert was called George. He was born February 5, 1850 in Darmstadt,
Germany. He died 1906 in
New York City.
August married Elizabeth Heimann who born 1873 in New York and died
March 10, 1941 in Yonkers, New York. He was a Habedasher, working
in partnership with one of our Heimann relatives. George and Elizabeth
had two children-
George August Ritsert
who was born March 5, 1897 in New York City and Elizabeth Ritsert, also
born in New York City.
The woman at the bottom
of the photo may be my grandmother Elizabeth Heimann. And the other
people I can not identify.
