Berkshire Funding Resource Center


The Berkshire Athenaeum is a Cooperating Collection of the Foundation Center of New York

and offers:

  • A core collection of Foundation Center print directories and guides to grant research

  • In library access to Foundation Directory Online,a searchable database of 80,000 grantmakers and over half a million grants. (Ask a librarian to enter the password.)

  • In library access to Foundation Grants to Individuals Online, a searchable online database of more than 6,200 foundation and public charity programs that fund students, artists, researchers, and other individual grantseekers. (Ask a librarian to enter the password.)

  • Access to the Foundation Center's online database of 990-PFs, the tax return filed by private foundations with the Internal Revenue Service. These documents provide comprehensive information about even the smaller foundations, including fiscal data, names of trustees and officers, application information, and descriptions of grants awarded the previous year.

  • Reference assistance in using these sources.

  • Access to Internet computers, word processing workstations, and a wireless Internet connection.
