In addition to our resources, Pittsfield is home to the Silvio O. Conte National Records Center and National Archives - Pittsfield Region of the National Archives. Adjacent to the Athenaeum is the Superior Court House, and two doors west is the Probate Court and the Registry of Deeds for central Berkshire.

Thus Pittsfield has become one of the richest areas to mine for New England genealogical material. Among the five repositories listed above are literally thousands and thousands of primary, secondary and tertiary resources. Come take a look!

Unfortunately, we do not have a large enough staff to do genealogical research for those of you unable to come to Pittsfield. However, we can send you information about who may be able to help you. Just drop us a line including your snailmail address, and we'll get it right off to you. Or contact the Berkshire Family History Association (BFHA) at P.O. Box , Pittsfield, MA 01201
