One of the most acclaimed musicals ever, Fiddler on the Roof is the heartwarming story of Teyve and his daughters who are all of marriageable age. It takes you to the Russian village of Anatevka at the turn of the century. There, the humble dairyman Tevye struggles to reconcile tradition and faith with the realities of a changing world. As the challenges presented by his sharp-tongued wife and five strong-willed daughters unfold, he must face each with courage and humor.

Based on the stories by Yiddish fiction-writer Sholom Aleichem, the tale is set in the fictional village of Anatevka in Czarist Russia in 1905. It is the dawn of the revolution and the end of a way of life for the tradition-bound Jewish community, which Teyve cherishes.
