The Berkshire Middle District Registry of Deeds is located in Pittsfield, in the historic Bowes Courthouse building on Park Square. Our office is open to the public Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 4:30pm. The hours of recording are Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 3:59pm.
The Registry is linked by computer to all other registries in the Commonwealth. Documents recorded at the Berkshire Middle District from 1985 to the present can be searched online by visiting masslandrecords. Documents and Plans recorded prior to 1985 are available in paper, and may be available in microfiche form, at the registry during normal business hours.
Indices and images are available at masslandrecords for the following registries: Barnstable, Berkshire Middle, Berkshire North, Berkshire South, Fall River Bristol, Northern Bristol, Southern Bristol, Dukes, Northern Essex, Southern Essex, Franklin, Hampden, Hampshire, North Middlesex, South Middlesex, Nantucket, Norfolk, Plymouth, Suffolk, Northern Worcester and Southern Worcester.
The Berkshire Middle District maintains Berkshire County Assessors' maps on a computer in the search room. The maps cover all the cities and towns in Berkshire County. Copies, on 8-1/2 x 11 paper, may be produced at a cost of $.50 per copy.
