Revolutionary Pension Applications

Oral history and folklore come in many guises. On June 7th 1832, congress passed a law giving those Revolutionary War Veterans still alive a pension. The records kept during the war were sparce and not complete, so many pensioners were asked to prove their participation by providing a narrative which could be then checked on for accuracy. This was, basically, an oral history of the American Revolution. I am collecting these histories and placing them on this web site.
